In 2014, five years after it became public, that she was diagnosed with breast cancer, the tv presenter announced, that she is officially cured from the disease.

Carmen Nebel was born on July 24, 1956 in Grimma. She was discovered at a talent competition at the age in 1979 and from then on, started her career in DDR television. Since 2004, she is tv presenter for the ZDF show Willkommen bei Carmen Nebel (= Welcome at Carmen Nebel). Since 2003, she is running her own production company called TeeVee Produktions GmbH, which also produces her own ZDF broadcast. Carmen Nebel has a son and is ambassador of the German Red Cross (DRK).
